Songward is a songwriting, demo-recording and live-performance app for musicians, published by Baeloo. This policy explains what data the app handles and what stays entirely on your device.
Your audio never leaves your device. Songs, lyrics, chords, audio recordings, demos, setlists and backups are stored locally on your phone or computer. If you sign in, you can optionally back up your writing (text only — never audio) to a private cloud space tied to your account. Songward has no ads, no analytics and no tracking SDKs. Purchases go through Google Play — we never see your card — and the Purchases section below names the one processor involved. The personal data we hold is your account email plus basic usage info described below.
Audio is never uploaded anywhere. Your writing also stays on the device unless you choose the optional cloud backup below. Deleting the app (or using its backup tools) is entirely in your control.
Creating a Songward account uses Firebase Authentication (a Google service). We store:
Firebase processes standard security signals (such as IP address) when you sign in, as described in Google's Firebase privacy documentation. We do not use your email for marketing and we do not share it with anyone.
Songward Pro is bought through the store, not from us. Google Play is the merchant of record: the payment happens inside Google's own checkout, and neither the app nor its developer ever sees your card, bank or billing details. Refunds and cancellations are handled by Google Play under its own terms.
To know which plan you own, the app uses RevenueCat, a purchase-and-entitlement service. It receives an account identifier for your Songward account and your purchase history for this app (what was bought, when, and whether it is still active), and answers one question: is Pro unlocked. That answer is what writes the plan record described above, and what carries your plan to the Windows app. It is used for nothing else — no ads, no profiling, no selling it on.
Signed-in users can back up their writing — songs, lyrics, chords, setlists, gigs and demo structure, as text only — to a private space in our database (Google Firestore) linked to their account. Audio recordings are never uploaded. Backups are encrypted in transit, visible to no other user, replaced each time you back up, and permanently deleted when you delete your account.
If you use the in-app feedback form, we receive the message you typed, your platform and app version, and — when signed in — your email so we can reply. Bug reports also attach a short technical log (what the app was doing when things went wrong — never your lyrics or audio, and file locations are anonymised). If you tap "I'm interested" on an upcoming AI feature, we store that interest with your email (or anonymously if you have no account). All of it is used for nothing else.
When you search for song lyrics, your search text is sent to LRCLIB, a community lyrics database. The query contains only what you type — no account or device identity is attached.
Songward uses the microphone only when you actively record (snippets, demo tracks, practice takes) or use the tuner. Audio is processed and stored on your device only.
You can delete your account at any time inside the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your account, its plan record and any cloud backups from our systems. Your songs and recordings remain on your device.
One thing outlives it: the record of a purchase. Google Play keeps its own receipt of what you bought, and so does RevenueCat — a shop cannot unsell you something. Neither record holds payment details, and neither is used for anything but proving the purchase.
You can also request deletion by email at songwardapp@gmail.com from the address of the account you wish to delete. Requests are handled within 30 days.
Songward is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new date.
